Spring City Front Entrance
Project Overview
Our client’s home is located in Spring City and they were looking to update their front entrance and give their home a more welcoming look. The original entrance had overgrown trees, rotting railroad ties and an uneven walkway that had seen better days. It did nothing to enhance their beautiful home. We were lucky to be able to work with such great clients and have the opportunity to transform a blah entrance into an ahh landscape. This home clearly had contemporary architectural features and it was our challenge to work in harmony with the home’s style and have it match with the home’s architecture. Our goal was to enhance the look of the front entrance to make it appealing to guests and family
Solution
The homeowners were open to ideas and suggestions and we were encouraged to use our design creativity and experience to come up with the perfect design that fit their vision. The use of our 3D design process was extremely helpful and the perfect way for our clients to see what their completed project would look like. Taking their ideas and incorporating our design experience into a three- dimensional representation was extremely beneficial for understanding the layout. Our clients had mentioned they were planning to change the exterior color of their home so we included the new color in the 3D design which was exciting for them to see how it would look. When it came time to choose the right hardscaping materials, our clients were thinking about more contemporary looking pavers and Whitehouse Landscaping was able to offer valuable input and suggestions that were cost effective, beautiful and functional. The homeowner chose Techo-Bloc Rocka steps and Aberdeen slab pavers with a solider border.
Conclusion
The distance from the driveway to the home is somewhat spacious and slightly elevated so two levels of steps were created to make the walk pleasant. In addition, the front door now can be accessed via two distinct walkways depending on where you park. The circular landing connects the two walkways together. Outdoor lighting accents the paver walkway and the boulder walls and plantings add to the great curb appeal. A dry river bed was added for visual appeal and a wonderful focal point for the entrance is the Basalt fountain surrounded by boulder walls. The sound and feel of the fountain gives everyone who enters a feeling of well-being and peace.
The homeowners now have the ultimate front entrance. This clean, low maintenance renovation highlights the front of their home and significantly adds curb appeal and value to their property. The project adds function and safety to their home, giving all who enter a safe path to navigate to the front door. We feel we created a beautiful place for this family to enjoy for years to come.
